Where the Grease Hides, and What We Clean

Grease rides the exhaust air through the filters, into the ducts and up to the fan on your roof. NFPA 96 calls for cleaning all of it, so we clean all 6 parts.

Tell us your cooking type, number of hoods and when the system was last cleaned.

  2. We schedule after close

Most kitchens are cleaned overnight or before opening, so you keep every service.

  3. We protect your kitchen

Equipment gets covered and plastic goes up to channel water and grease into containment.

  4. We clean the full system

Hood, filters, ductwork and rooftop fan are scraped, degreased and hot-water pressure washed.

  5. We document it

A dated sticker goes on the hood, and you get before and after photos.

Stay Compliant With Colorado Fire Code

Fire departments across Colorado require commercial kitchen exhaust systems to be cleaned on a regular schedule. NFPA 96 sets that schedule by how much and what you cook. Miss it and you risk a failed inspection, fines, a denied insurance claim or a forced closure.

Every A-1 cleaning includes

  • Cleaning done to NFPA 96 standards
  • A dated service sticker on your hood
  • Before and after photos of the hood, ducts and fan
  • A report for the fire marshal, health inspector and insurance company

A-1 Hood Cleaning carries general liability, umbrella, commercial auto and workers’ compensation insurance. We send certificates of insurance on request.

Owner-Operated, Not a Call Center

“I started A-1 Hood Cleaning in 2011 with almost nothing, a year after bringing my family to America. I built this company one Denver kitchen at a time on a simple rule: show up, do it right, be honest. When you call, you’re talking to the people who actually do the work.”

Hood Cleaning FAQ

How often does a restaurant hood need to be cleaned?

Colorado fire codes follow NFPA 96, which sets the schedule by cooking volume. Solid-fuel kitchens (wood or charcoal) need cleaning monthly. High-volume kitchens (24-hour, charbroiling, wok) need it quarterly. Moderate-volume restaurants need it every 6 months, and low-volume kitchens like churches or seasonal businesses once a year.

How much does hood cleaning cost?

Price depends on the number of hoods, the length of the duct run, how many rooftop fans you have, how often you cook, and how much grease has built up. Our pricing is competitive, and every quote is free with no obligation. Kitchens on a regular maintenance plan get the most predictable pricing.

Do you clean at night or on weekends?

Yes. We work 24/7. Most jobs are done overnight or before opening, so your kitchen keeps every shift. Our office answers scheduling questions 7 AM to 12 PM, and you can call any time for urgent service.

Do you clean the ductwork and roof fan, or just the hood?

We clean the full system: hood, filters, all accessible ductwork, and the rooftop exhaust fan. Cleaning only the visible hood doesn’t meet NFPA 96 and leaves the most dangerous grease behind.
