Hood Cleaning for Colorado Mountain Towns

We already clean kitchens in Aspen and Estes Park. Seasonal kitchens get cleaned before opening and after closing.

Mountain Hood Cleaning at a Glance

Resort kitchens cook hard for a few months, then go quiet. The schedule should follow the season.

Fire authorities
Each town has its own: Aspen Fire Protection District in Aspen, Estes Valley Fire Protection District in Estes Park, and local districts elsewhere.
Where we work
Aspen, Snowmass Village, Estes Park, Vail, Breckenridge, Steamboat Springs and other mountain towns.
How often
NFPA 96 sets it by cooking volume. A ski-season kitchen that runs full tilt for 5 months can need cleaning during the season too.
Booking
Mountain trips are planned ahead. Book early before ski season and summer.

Cleaning Around the Season

For a kitchen that opens for winter or summer, 3 cleanings matter most.

  1. Before you open

Start the season with a clean hood, duct and fan, and a fresh dated sticker for the inspector who comes by before opening day.

  2. During the season

Busy kitchens build grease fast. If you cook at high volume, NFPA 96 can call for a cleaning mid-season. We’ll plan it for a slow night.

  3. After you close

Clean the system when the season ends, so a season’s grease doesn’t sit in the duct and on the roof while the kitchen is shut.

Who Inspects Mountain Kitchens

Your local fire district

Mountain towns are served by their own fire protection districts, and each one runs its own inspections. In Aspen it’s the Aspen Fire Protection District, which has a fire marshal’s office. In Estes Park it’s the Estes Valley Fire Protection District, whose prevention staff inspect businesses and which adopted the 2021 International Fire Code.

Every district uses NFPA 96 for how often a kitchen exhaust system must be cleaned. Our photos and dated sticker work for any of them.

Resort Kitchens We Clean

Ski lodges, slopeside cafeterias, hotel kitchens and the restaurants in town all cook hard when the lifts are running, then slow down in the shoulder seasons. Estes Park works the other way round, with its busiest months in summer when visitors head to Rocky Mountain National Park.

Winter jobs bring snow and ice on the roof. Tell us what the roof looks like and how we get up there, and we’ll plan for it. A cleaning before the first big snow is easier for everyone.

Mountain Town Questions

Do you really come to Aspen and Estes Park from Denver?

Yes. We already have customers in both. Mountain trips are planned ahead, so book as early as you can, especially before ski season and summer.

When should a seasonal kitchen be cleaned?

Before the season opens and after it closes. If you cook at high volume during the season, NFPA 96 may call for a cleaning in the middle too. We’ll recommend a schedule when we quote.

What if there’s snow on the roof?

Tell us when you book. We’ll plan for roof access in winter conditions, or schedule the cleaning before the snow if that’s easier.
