Keeping Denver Kitchens Safe, Clean and Inspection-Ready

If you run a restaurant, bar or commercial kitchen in Denver, grease builds up in your hood, ductwork and rooftop fan every day you cook. Left alone, that grease becomes fuel for a fire that can spread through the ducts faster than a suppression system can stop it. It’s also one of the first things a fire inspector or insurance adjuster checks.

A-1 Hood Cleaning has cleaned Denver kitchen exhaust systems since 2011. We clean the whole system, from the hood down at the cookline to the fan up on the roof. Then we leave you a dated service sticker and send a photo report you can hand to anyone who asks.

Stay Compliant With Denver Fire Code

Denver Fire Department

The Denver Fire Department’s Fire Prevention Division enforces the city’s fire code, which requires commercial kitchen exhaust systems to be inspected and cleaned on a regular schedule. That schedule comes from NFPA 96 and is based on how much and what you cook.

If grease builds up between cleanings, you risk a failed inspection, fines, a denied insurance claim or a forced closure.

Every A-1 cleaning includes

Owner-Operated, Not a Call Center

“I started A-1 Hood Cleaning in 2011 with almost nothing, a year after bringing my family to America. I built this company one Denver kitchen at a time on a simple rule: show up, do it right, be honest. When you call, you’re talking to the people who actually do the work.”

Denver Hood Cleaning FAQ

How often does a restaurant hood need to be cleaned in Denver?

The fire code follows NFPA 96, which sets the schedule by cooking volume. Kitchens using solid fuel like wood or charcoal need cleaning monthly. High-volume kitchens (24-hour operations, charbroiling, wok cooking) need it quarterly. Moderate-volume restaurants need it every 6 months, and low-volume kitchens like churches or seasonal businesses need it once a year. If you’re not sure where you fall, we’ll recommend a schedule at your free quote.

How much does hood cleaning cost in Denver?

Price depends on the number of hoods, the length of the duct run, how many rooftop fans you have, how often you cook, and how much grease has built up since the last cleaning. We keep our pricing competitive with other Denver hood cleaners, and every quote is free with no obligation. Restaurants on a regular maintenance plan get the most predictable pricing, because the system never gets badly built up between cleanings.

Do you clean at night or on weekends?

Yes. We work 24/7. Most Denver jobs are done overnight or before opening, so your kitchen never loses a shift, and we can respond fast after a failed inspection or a grease problem. Our office answers scheduling questions 7 AM to 12 PM, and you can call any time for urgent service.

What do I get after the cleaning?

You get a dated service sticker on the hood plus before and after photos of the hood, ducts and exhaust fan. That’s the documentation fire inspectors, health inspectors and insurance companies ask for.

Do I need to do anything to prepare?

Just turn off the cooking equipment and let it cool before we arrive, and make sure we can get onto the roof. We cover your equipment, contain the water and grease, and leave the kitchen ready to cook.

Do you clean the ductwork and roof fan, or just the hood?

We clean the full system: hood, filters, all accessible ductwork, and the rooftop exhaust fan. Cleaning only the visible hood doesn’t meet NFPA 96 and leaves the most dangerous grease behind.

Are you insured?

A-1 Hood Cleaning carries general liability, umbrella liability, commercial auto and workers’ compensation insurance, so your business is protected while we work in your kitchen and on your roof. We can send a certificate of insurance (COI) to you, your landlord or your property manager on request.
